The Cultural Diplomacy and Technology Forum 2026, organized by the Canadian Center for Cultural Diplomacy (CCCD) with the sponsorship of Diplomatic Protocol and Event Management INC, will bring together diplomats, academics, and young leaders to address
the evolving role of technology in shaping cultural diplomacy.
In an era where social media, artificial intelligence, and algorithmic systems increasingly influence international relations, this forum will provide a platform to examine the opportunities and challenges presented by these tools. The event aims to promote ethical digital practices, encourage innovative approaches, and strengthen intercultural understanding in the digital era.
Objectives
– To analyze how digital platforms and algorithmic systems influence soft power and cultural narratives.
– To explore strategies for inclusive and ethical digital diplomacy.
– To highlight innovative practices in digital cultural engagement.
– To strengthen global networks among diplomats, scholars, technologists, and cultural leaders.

Participant Information
– Total Capacity: 200 participants
– 10 Fully Funded International Participants (flight, accommodation, meals, forum access)
– 20 Partially Funded Participants (accommodation + forum access)
– Remaining participants are self-funded, selected through a competitive review process
– Applications are accepted from all countries worldwide, and selected participants will be provided with an early invitation letter.
Forum Structure
Panel 1: Algorithms of Influence – Diplomacy in the Digital Era
Focus:
– The role of social media platforms in shaping public diplomacy
– Algorithmic bias and its impact on cultural representation
– Governments, institutions, and influencers as digital diplomatic actors
Speakers: 4 experts (academia, government, technology sector, and international
organizations)
Moderator: Cultural diplomacy professional with expertise in technology

Eligibility Criteria
1. Age
Applicants must be 16 years or older at the time of application.
2. Educational or Professional Background
Candidates from diverse academic and professional fields are welcome to apply. A background in international relations, cultural studies, communication, political science, technology, or related disciplines will be considered an asset.
3. Language Requirement
Proficiency in English is required, as the forum sessions, workshops, and discussions will be conducted in English.
4. Motivation and Interest
Applicants must demonstrate a clear motivation to engage with the forum’s theme and a genuine interest in exploring the intersection of technology, culture, and diplomacy.
5. Experience (Preferred but not required):
o Participation in local or international forums, cultural exchange projects, tech-based initiatives, or volunteer activities.
o Engagement in social media campaigns, digital storytelling, or public advocacy work.
Participation in the program is entirely free of charge for the selected participants.
