Successful Conclusion of the Cultural Diplomacy and Technology Forum 2024

The Cultural Diplomacy and Technology Forum 2024, hosted by the Canadian Center for Cultural Diplomacy, concluded successfully today at the North York Civic Centre. The event featured a series of engaging presentations on the intersection of technology and cultural diplomacy.

Ahmet Eren Koch, Chairman of the Board at CCCD, opened the forum with an in-depth exploration of “Public Digital Humanities and Networked Learning Communities” and “Changing Trends in Cultural Diplomacy.” Ahmet discussed how digital humanities and corporate digital infrastructures are transforming cultural diplomacy. He addressed the role of evolving content platforms and the influence of corporations on diplomatic practices, emphasizing the need to balance corporate interests with authentic cultural engagement.

Muzhda Akbari, Youth Advocate at UNICEF Canada, followed with an inspiring presentation on “The Evolution of Cultural Diplomacy from a Youth Perspective.” Muzhda showcased how young people are harnessing digital platforms to drive cultural exchange and global dialogue. Her talk highlighted the innovative ways youth are reshaping cultural diplomacy and their pivotal role in bridging global divides.

Nour-El Houda Sifeddine, Cybersecurity Expert, presented next on “The Impacts of Cybersecurity on Cultural Diplomacy.” She emphasized the critical importance of safeguarding digital communications and data in cultural exchanges. Nour-El Houda discussed the need for robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive cultural information while leveraging digital tools for international engagement.

Dr. Konrad Gunesch, Dean & Professor at Woxsen University, concluded the presentations with a thought-provoking talk on “Brain Implants Boosting Language Learning and Artificial Intelligence Enhancing Intercultural Understanding.” Dr. Gunesch explored the potential of neural implants and AI to revolutionize language acquisition and intercultural interactions, questioning their capacity to foster genuine cultural understanding.

The forum ended with a delightful gala evening, where attendees celebrated the success of the event and the valuable connections made throughout the day. The gathering provided a rich platform for meaningful discussions and networking.
